Gratitude Ramphaka

Gratitude Tsholofelo Ramphaka is an accomplished Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in audit and strategic financial leadership across the public and private sectors. She currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Ekurhuleni Water Care Company in short ERWAT where she leads Finance, Supply Chain Management, and ICT. Under her leadership, ERWAT achieved a clean audit opinion for the 2023/24 financial year, reflecting her deep commitment to governance, financial excellence, and institutional accountability.

Prior to joining ERWAT, she served as CFO at Armscor SOC Ltd and Senior Manager at Auditor General of South Africa. During her tenure at Armscor, she consistently led the organisation to clean audit outcomes — securing three consecutive clean audits from 2014/15 to 2016/17. These outcomes underscore her ability to drive sound financial management and embed a culture of compliance and performance.

Ms. Ramphaka brings to her role a wealth of experience in corporate governance, risk management, strategic budgeting, treasury management, and financial reporting. She has played a central role in institutional turnaround strategies, financial sustainability planning, and stakeholder engagement. Her expertise spans legislation including the PFMA, MFMA, GRAP, IFRS, and King IV, and she has led teams in the execution of financial systems improvement, audit preparation, and high-impact procurement reforms.
